Other Ways
to Support our Work
Thank
you for choosing to contribute to the Spanda Foundation.
SPANDA
FOUNDATION CHARITABLE DONATIONS MAY BE CONTRIBUTED
in
a number of ways,
including the following:
Gifts
of Stock
Gifts of appreciated stock can benefit the Spanda Foundation while
providing
substantial tax benefits for the donor. If you contribute appreciated
stock,
you pay no capital gains tax upon the transfer of the stock and
receive
an income tax charitable deduction for the full fair market value
of the stock on the date of the gift.
There are two ways to make stock gifts:
By
wire transfer
Please provide your broker with the following
information:
Bank: ABN-AMRO
Account Holder: Stichting Spanda
Account Number: 468265236
IBAN: NL06ABNA0468265236 BIC: ABNANL2A
The Spanda Foundation Tax ID is 8149.79.075
Please notify Spanda Foundation when a transfer is made, providing
the donor's name and information regarding the type of stock and
number of shares. This helps the Spanda Foundation to ensure that
the transfer is completed successfully and properly credited to
the donor. Thank you.
By
mail
Send your unendorsed stock certificates by registered
mail to:
Spanda Foundation
Office of Development
Laan van Meerdervoort 70
NL-2517AN The Hague, Netherlands.
In a separate envelope, to the same address, mail your
signed stock powers with a cover letter stating that you wish
to donate
the securities to Spanda Foundation. In either case, be sure to
notify the
Foundation that you are making a stock transfer so that your gift
can be properly acknowledged and credited.
Planned
Gifts
You can leave a meaningful legacy through a planned gift to the
Spanda Foundation that will strengthen the capacity of people
throughout the world
to meet the challenges of global interdependence . Planned gifts
allow you to provide long-term support for Spanda Foundation while
retaining control
of assets or increasing liquidity for yourself
and/or loved ones during your lifetimes.
Those who give planned charitable donations enjoy the satisfaction
of advancing the long-term goals of Spanda Foundation. They also
enjoy the financial benefits which flow from sound investment
and estate planning; these may include an increased stream of
income, immediate income tax deduction, reduced estate taxes,
and/or reduced capital gains taxes on appreciated assets.
Examples of planned charitable donations include:
Bequest
A gift by Will that designates a specific portion or asset
of your estate
to pass to Spanda Foundation.
The simplest way to make a gift is to remember the Spanda Foundation
in your Will or Trust. To do this, simply list amount or fraction
of your estate that you would like to leave as a bequest along
with our full legal contact information: Stichting Spanda (Spanda
Foundation) with headquarters at
Laan van Meerdervoort 70, 2517AN The Hague, Netherlands.
Charitable
Gift Annuity
Governed by a simple agreement, a gift annuity
provides a guaranteed stream of income - some of which may be
tax-free - to you and/or a loved one for your lifetimes in exchange
for your gift. The rate of income is based on your age - the older
you are, the higher the annuity rate. The amount remaining passes
to Spanda Foundation.
A gift annuity may be funded with cash or securities that have
a minimum value of $5,000 and may have up to two beneficiaries
the older the beneficiaries, the higher the rate of return. Both
beneficiaries must be at least age 50 to begin receiving annuity
payments.
Charitable Remainder Trusts
When you set up a charitable remainder
trust, you establish a percentage or dollar amount of income that
you will receive each year for your lifetime or a designated period
of years, at the end of which the assets remaining in the trust
would pass to Spanda Foundation.
The annual rate of income from the trust is a percentage or amount
that is agreed upon when the trust is established (minimum 5%
of the original value of the assets used to fund the trust). A
trust for which Spanda Foundation will serve as trustee may be
funded with cash, securities, or other appreciated assets with
a minimum value of $100,000.
IRAs
The Spanda Foundation can be named as the primary,
secondary, or partial beneficiary of an individual retirement
account on the beneficiary designation form for that account.
By including the Stichting Spanda (Spanda Foundation), Laan van
Meerdervoort 70, 2517AN The Hague, Netherlands on your beneficiary
designation form along with the Foundation tax identification
number, 8149.79.075, you can name the Spanda Foundation to receive
these assets directly. Please consult your attorney or tax advisor
to determine how best to structure a gift in this manner.
Life
Insurance
You can name the Spanda Foundation as a beneficiary
(and owner, if you choose) of an existing life insurance policy.
Policies can also be purchased to benefit Spanda Foundation.
You can contribute all or part of an insurance policy, which you
currently own, but no longer need. The Spanda Foundation can be
designated as a beneficiary of a whole life, universal, or other
permanent life insurance policy. Additionally, if you wish to
name the Foundation as owner of the policy, annual premiums become
tax deductible.
Honour/Memorial
Gifts
Making your gift to Spanda Foundation in honour or in memory of
someone special is a meaningful way to show you care. Complete
the Honour/Memorial section of the Donation
Form and mail to Spanda Foundation along with your contribution.
A personalized letter will be sent as notification of your gift.
Gifts
of Real Estate or Other Property
The Spanda Foundation accepts gifts of real estate and other property
on a case-by-case basis, with board approval required for gifts
of real estate. For more information about contributing real property
to Spanda Foundation, please contact the Office of Development
at +31 (0)70 356 0403 or development@spanda.org.
You can leave a legacy that will change
the lives of many people for
generations to come and possibly gain tax benefits for yourself
or your heirs with a planned gift to the Spanda Foundation.
We encourage you to consult your financial advisor and/or
attorney when making any planned giving decisions.
Thank you again for your interest in the
Spanda Foundation.
